Brick by Brick

Terms of use

Using this site

Brick by Brick is a free community project. These terms describe what the site is for and the few things we ask of you.

What this site is

Brick by Brick is a map of a community quilt made for the Chattahoochee Brick Company Memorial and Park. It exists so that the people who decorated a brick, and anyone visiting the quilt, can find a particular brick on the wall. It is offered free of charge, with no account to create and nothing to buy.

By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use it.

Please treat the names with care

The names on this wall belong to real people in our community, many of whom are our neighbours, and some of whom are children. The site is here to help someone find their own brick, or a brick belonging to someone they know.

So we ask that you do not use automated tools to collect the names in bulk, do not try to work around the limits that keep the roster from being gathered wholesale, and do not republish the names as a list or use them for marketing, mailing lists, or any commercial purpose. Looking up a name is welcome. Harvesting them is not.

We also ask that you do not attempt to disrupt, overload, probe, or gain unauthorized access to the site.

The map may be wrong, and that is fixable

We have tried hard to place every brick accurately, but the map is maintained by hand and mistakes happen. Names may be misspelled, placed in the wrong spot, or missing. The site is offered as it is, with no guarantee that it is complete, accurate, or available at any given moment.

If something looks wrong, please tell us through the feedback form. Corrections are genuinely welcome and are the fastest way to make the map better.

The quilt and this site

The quilt, the photographs and artwork on this site, and the text of these pages belong to the project and to the people who made them. Please do not reproduce them commercially without asking. Writing about the project, linking to it, or sharing it with your community needs no permission at all, and is very much encouraged.

Names, marks, and logos belonging to other organizations mentioned here remain theirs.

Links to other sites

We link to other organizations because they are part of this story or because they helped. A link is not an endorsement of everything on that site, and once you follow one you are subject to that site's own terms.

Liability

This is a volunteer community project offered free of charge, and it is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or from any error, omission, or interruption in it.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law.

Changes, and the law that applies

We may update these terms as the project grows. Changes take effect when posted here, and the date at the top will change with them.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, in the United States.

Questions about any of this are welcome through the feedback form. See also our privacy page.
